Schedule


Please refer to the Register By times on the shedule. In the past rank races take on average 45 minutes plus or minus 15 minutes. The Register By times assume ranks races of 30 minutes. A rank race will not start until 15 after this time.

      • Registration: 8:30-10:45
      • Webelos: start 9:00 (approx. 45 min.)Register By 8:45
      • Bears: start 9:30 - 9:45 (approx. 45 min.) Register By 9:15
      • Wolves: start 10 - 10:30 (approx. 45 min.) Register By 9:45
      • Tigers: start 10:30 - 11:15 (approx. 45 min.)Register By 10:15
      • Family Open: start 11 - 12:00 (approx. 45 min.) Register By 10:45
      • Finals: start 12 - 12:45 (approx. 45 min.)
      • Awards: start 12 - 1:30

Guidelines for Helping Your Scout


The Pinewood Car is intended to be built by the Scout and not the Akela. However, the Scout will need guidance and support in mastering the tools and techniques needed to build a car. Here are some guidelines to follow when helping your Scout:

    • Tiger's should design, sanding, and painting
    • Wolves should Design, sanding, painting, and wheel assembly
    • Bears should Design, sanding, painting, and wheel assembly
    • Webelos I & II should complete the Total car with supervised cutting

The Race

  • The Track
    • The track is made of alumnimum and has four lanes
  • The Races
    • Races will be run by rank. Tigers race against Tigers. Wolves against wolves
    • Each car will run in each of the four lanes and ranking will be based on the average oof these four times
    • The top three winners from each each rank run again in the finals


Non Racing Awards Awards

Note: Non Racing Awards are for our cub scouts. Entries in the Family Open race are not eligible.
  • There will be certificates given out during the awards ceremony for the following categories:
    • Best Paint Job
    • Most Time Spent building and designing car (based purely on the look of the entered car)
    • Least amount of time spent building and designing car (based purely on the look of the entered car)
    • Most realistic
    • Fastest looking
    • Best Cub Scout Theme
    • Most unique
    • Most Colorful Car
    • Most Decals
    • Most Aerodynamic
    • Most Patriotic Car
    • Smoothest Finish
